sex after spine fusion is it safe?

I am 6 weeks post op. i had a fusion done to my thoracic spine to correct kyphosis. i have been wearing a tlso brace for 6 weeks and i just saw my surgeon and i have to wear it for another 6 weeks. i wanted to know if having sex in a position that wont involve me twisting is ok. i didnt ask the doctor due to embarrasment please help me if you know if its ok like does it hurt the fusion at all

      Doctors are so mean...they never give you that information, they want to make you ask. When I had my first 4-level fusion and I asked my doctor about sex, he said to wait 6 weeks and to make sure that I was on the bottom that way my back was being supported. If it causes you pain then I would stop and wait a while longer before trying again.

    • Yea i would think spooning would be ok. i cant lay flat on my back just yet i tried it with my man, so insted we went with spooning. it was ok it didnt hurt i didnt move much i was afraid and he was too. i had a multi level fusion to fix my hump on my back it was so hunched over. i had back pain during sex before my surgery so i wouldnt know if i was hurting myself or not that is why i posted the message but thanks for your imput.
